- Treasurer’s Report
- Doug N4MGW Kabler gave the summary of current financial status. Balance on July 31 $10618.18. Blue Host, Auction costs, Grand prize payment, Post office box payments totaled $1830.23
- Motion to accept as presented by Cathy Williams, seconded by Scott. Approved as presented
- Event Reports
Hamfest : $2180.10 gross After expenses, net was $453.10, similar to past years. No donation to the Fire & Rescue Training center, per their request.
- Upcoming
- Sept 13 Blue Ridge Bonanza.
- Sept 13 Blue Ridge Bonanza Go activate radios on the Parkway to celebrate the beginning of the construction of the parkway. It is on the ARRL calendar. Contact Ben Williams if interested.
- September 19: Floyd has a preparedness summit. The Red Cross will be involved, partner with FARS—Floyd amateur radio society.
- Gofest: October 16-18. Follow the block on the home page to sign up for a time.
- JOTA: have a setup at the Red Cross that scouts can come and Motion by Avery to have a JOTA at the Red Cross 10-3 On Oct 17. Sec by Cathy. Move to GoFest if we are allowed there.
- Updates
- VE: Session last Sat with 3 Techs. One scheduled here
- W4CA website and social media (Linda): The website has a new addition on the home page for digital paying of memberships, joining the club, and donations

- Next Meeting With Eating–Golden Corral, 1441 Town Square Blvd, Roanoke on August 29, 8:30 AM in the main room. Bring family and friends for socialization. Then we will move to the Red Cross at 10:00 for our program meeting on Winlink.
- September 11 meeting: Club elections. We need a nominating committee.
- Radios that the club owns. We are discussing getting rid of the ICOM 7000: 3300, separate tuner, signal link. Tom checked on the internet, and they are difficult to find. Sought after because it is small, has HF VHF, UHF in one. Radio is $700-$1200. We could offer the radio for $1000.
The other main radio is 991A. We also have a Yaesu 8800.
Motion by Pat, 2ns by ben Burch that we look into selling the 7000 Kit.
