Winter Field Day 2019

Roanoke Valley Amateur Radio Club (RVARC) presents its annual Winter Field Day event beginning Jan 26 at 2PM until 2 PM Jan 27 at Virginia Western Community College, 24 hrs. of communicating world-wide under emergency conditions, using no commercial power, only batteries, generators or solar power to run our equipment. The public is invited to see close up what we hams do to help local agencies and communities during emergencies and public events. This operation also allows us to improve our technical skills by serving as a competitive North American contest among ourselves. We will be situated on Lot 14, overlooking Brown Library at the college. Weather permitting, we expect a productive, informative and fun-filled event for all who attend.
