On This Day – Jan 10
Fact of the Day: In 1946, the first radar signals were reflected off the Moon’s surface by a U.S. Army research team. A 180 Hz signal pulse with a 1/4 sec duration was transmitted and the reflected signal was heard 2.4 seconds later. In 1949, RCA produced the first 45 rpm 7 inch record designed for “pop” singles.
