Doug Kabler KR4XE presented that the club's insurance policy premium was due. Motion made by Ron Ramsey AB4A to pay it. Motion passed unanimously.

Ron Ramsey AB4A reported that one of the people who was taking the Tech Class missed the test session due to illness. He'd like for the club to put together enough VE's to test him at his home if he can't make the last test session (November 19).

Ron Ramsey AB4A presented that there will be a SKYWARN advanced class on December 4 at 6:30pm. We need to support SKYWARN.

Ron Ramsey AB4A commented that we need more activity on the weekly net. Let's get more activity and conversation going to keep the net going. If no one has started the net before 7:03, take it and run with it. We have to make sure the net keeps going because our frequencies are “use it or lose it.” Let's use our repeater.

Nancy Wood KG4ETP reminded the club of the upcoming parades. Christmas Parade, November 18—meet at Lutheran Church at corner of Brandon and Grandin. Frank Cupp is the contact for this parade. Roanoke Parade, December 2—Michael Hevener is the contact for this parade. Parades are part of our community service and are always fun to do.

Anthony Brooks WM3T informed the club that a ham from Sarasota, FL, contacted him about becoming active with RVARC after he and his wife move to the Roanoke area. This ham found out about us and wants to join us because of the activities and level of involvement demonstrated in our online presence. This is why it is important for us to continue to be active and post about it online.

50/50 tickets —Total amount to be split $14.00. Tom Wilcox W4TKW had the winning ticket. Tom donated the club. Thank you, Tom!

There is no program meeting in November. There are no meetings in December. Next business meeting will be January 12, 2018.

Meeting adjourned at 7:34pm.
