Meeting called to order by Ron Ramsey@ 8:00 PM
Members stood for Pledge of Allegiance. Members stood for a moment of silence to remember silent keys and others with health and welfare issues. This is the second meeting of the month which is our Program meeting. Members introduced themselves by name and call sign.
Nancy—talked about Hamfest sites.
Wally—Test session at Bonsack Baptist last night. Wally recognized the VE’S that helped. Wally talked about some of the members that passed and new call signs. Next Laurel Test Session February 23, 2017 @7:00 Bonsack Baptist.
Tom—reconciled bank account from last year. We did not make a donation to WBHS or pay janitor. Janitor bill taken care of. Motion to pay 150.00 to WBHS for a donation. Motioned carried. Ron asked to be with the group that delivers check.
Ron talked about the following items:
- Pay close attention to House State Bill 1834. Passed back to committee for language change. Senate Bill 860—need to write senator. Information on website. Bill 555 did not go to committee. Bill talks about gated communities and others that are similar; to be able to have an antenna for emergency communications.
- Fletch agreed to be trustee for call sign. He is the OSC of Virginia and there may be a conflict of interest. Motioned passed for David Fletcher to be new trustee as long as there is no conflict of interest. Wally to talk to David Fletcher about possible conflict of interest.
- Asked club for nominations for new president. Wally nominated Anthony Brooks. Anthony was unamiously elected.
Darrell Little-donating Baofung radio for raffle at club pot luck .
Club members questioned when the repeater would be fixed.
50/50 total amount was 11.00. Darrell donated money back to the club.
Program—given by Anthony Brooks on antennas.
